Proportion

Benjamin Keating, 2T2 Fitz

After I have drunk the whisky
after I have called my love
and filled my shoes with cedar
after I have strummed the song of my friend’s father
I contemplate the finite life that lies before me.

After I have wound my watch
and loosened my collar
I know that I have found peace
but only in such an amount,
that I fall upon my bed with my mind racing and my hands clamouring
for the early afternoon dawn.
