What inspired this outfit? 

I recently acquired a pair of square-toed Doctor Martens boots for the slushy winter we had in Toronto. This shoot was a perfect opportunity to showcase these shoes with a layered outfit where I combined a wool coat with a ribbed t-shirt. I enjoy being bold with my style, combining different colours, patterns, and textures.

How would you describe your personal style? 

My most comfortable style is formal, everyday dress wear. I am very well-known (not sure if this is a good or bad thing) for my floral dress shirts, but I have recently expanded my style to include bolder street wear items and more timeless pieces.

 How did you get into fashion?

I got into fashion during my undergraduate career. I especially enjoy how different outfits allow you to feel and explore different parts of yourself. It also helps that my fiancé is into fashion as well, so we inspire and critique each other’s fits on a daily basis.

Current favourite piece in your closet?

This question is extremely tough! My favourite piece, which is not a surprise, is a mustard yellow wool coat. The colour catches your eyes easily, and the structure makes me feel so empowered. It has definitely been a regular on my winter rotation of coats.

Favourite place to shop OR who are your favourite designers

My favourite places to shop have changed over the years. I enjoy buying classic and timeless pieces from Banana Republic, trendier pieces from Zara and Frank and Oak. More recently, I have been exploring the designer space with some pieces from Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana.
